There was a company up here that supplied on the fly data encryption and
compression via a modified router.  It was called the "Warp" box.  They
used 3des encryption, and I think a gzip(Lempel-Ziv LZ77) compression 
algorithm. Though I think this company is being dissolved, it was quite a
nice feature for people with 56k links which would get their total
throughput boosted, and fairly secure.

Isn't this something like a SecureID type system?
