Beta2 includes 2 kernels for x86, well 3 actually.  There is the default 
kernel, uniprocessor, in which the 4G/4G split is disabled, as is the 
smp kernel.  vmware should work better with those kernels. Also included 
is a separate kernel with the 4G/4G split enabled.

The announcement message accompanying Beta2 will itemize this info.
