rhel4 beta 2 screen/keyboard hanging

Hello,
anyone else experiencing X locking the screen/keyboard in this latest 
RHEL4 beta.

IBM Thinkpad t41
01:00.0 VGA compatible controller: ATI Technologies Inc Radeon R250 Lf 
[Radeon Mobility 9000 M9] (rev 02)

i)    1 out of 5 times, on booting X starts then hangs
if X does start ...
ii)   Simply try switching to console then back to X, keyboard/screen hangs.
iii)  Start machine in runlevel 3, switch to runlevel 5 .. 
keyboard/screen hangs

I see in the changelog, a number of radeon patches since RHEL4 beta 1 
refresh. Could this be the issue, on the
previous issue, X worked fine.
Before I open a bug, is anyone else seeing these issues?
