RHEL 4.0 CD #1 not booting

hello,
i cant get a small system booting on RHEL 4.0 CD #1 (ES + WS).
same RHEL 4.0 CD #1 boots on other systems with no problem.
the system boots earlier RH-install-CDs ( RH8, RH9) with no problem.
and also newest install-CDs from other linux-distros make no problem.
why isnt RHEL 4.0 booting on this system?
i cant find a RHEL 4.0 boot-image for making a boot-diskette.
only seeing larger boot-images for USB-stick, LS-120 or CD-ROM on RHEL 4.0
CD+DVD
system (32-bit intel) has IDE-CD-ROM and 2 IDE-disks.
usb-boot isnt supported at this system.
LS-120 isnt available.
any ideas?
