RHEL 4.0 and SATA-support
hello,
i tried to install RHEL 4.0 (ES+WS) at a system with SATA-onboard
no disks are seen while install-config.
only switching to "compatibility mode" in BIOS helped, to see one disk.
- DVD-ROM is a PATA-device and needed for install -
so i can only map 1 PATA- and 1 SATA-device in compatibility-mode
system is a FSC (Fujitsu-Siemens) CELSIUS, Model: M430, Motherboard D1858.
as far as i found out INTEL chipset 925 is used.
in SATA-compatibility-mode install at this disk is successful.
however system has two SATA-disks... and it is planned that these 2 disks
should be a software-raid.
is there a kernel-modul i can include after install?
so that i can switch back to SATA-standard-mode in BIOS, to make the 2nd
disk available?
