SATA RAID ( ICH5R / Adaptec 1210SA) + RHEL4 ?

Hi,
I have a machine with 2 RAID controllers ( 1 ICH5R - onboard, and add-on 
card Adaptec 1210SA) .I also have 2 drives that I want to build a RAID 0 
with.
I tried this on both controllers :
   1. connect the drives to controller
   2. configure the controller in RAID 0
   3. boot off CD and start the RHEL4 installation

At this point , when it comes down to partition drives, it complains 
that the drives have no partition information and asks to initialize 
them . Basically it doesn't see 1 drive ( the logical RAID 0 ) , but 2.

I know that both controllers are software raid, but how can I make this 
work ? Any pointers, suggestions are appreciated :)
