GDM login page: host/clock text too big (outside screen)

Hi,

I'm trying to figure out why the hostname/clock in the right-lower
corner of the RHEL login screen is "falling off the screen" on every
CRT monitor I try (the clock text is only half visible), while it is
displayed ok on every laptop/LCD monitor I have here.

Is this a known problem?  I tried on several CRT monitors and I'm
pretty sure it's not a vertical size problem of the monitor.

Do others see this problem too?
