Well, I didn't have access to bug 153669, but 157252 suggested adding
HOTPLUG=no in ifcfg-eth0.  Sure enough, that seems to have done the
trick -- I can load the ipv6 module without taking down my virtual
interfaces.  Thanks for the tip Bill.
