I've looked in the XML file, but I do not see how to solve it.
It seems that in *some* situations the font for hostname/clock
is just scaled incorrectly.
When I manually change the font size (12) mentioned in the XML file,
I can make the text appear correctly, but that is not the way to go...
Anyway, I've sumitted a bug #163192, also mentioning your monitor.
