CD media check problems

I have downloaded RHEL AS 4 ISO images and their md5sums match the
md5sums published on the RHN web site. If I burn those images on CDs
using my Dell Optiplex GX280 with the standard LiteOn CDRW drive that
came with it, those CDs don't pass the checks on either the same
system or my other Dell, an Optiplex GX270. However, if I burn these
images at home using my old Plextor 12/10/32s CDRW drive, those CDs do
pass the media check on my PC at home but they still don't pass the
media check on my Optiplexes at work. I did a test install of RHEL AS
4.0 using the CD set burned with my Plextor drive anyways and the
install went fine. Did anyone else run into this problem? Could it be
simply because Dell Optiplexes come with POS CDRW drives? I have run
into some strange problems with Solaris 9 ISOs on them too. (they
burn fine but fail to boot without errors on a number of Sun
workstations, the ones burned with my Plextor drive work just fine,
same media)
