All other thing being equal, I'd go with RHEL4, just because it reflects
another 14 months or so of open source progress. The new kernel is a
bigger leap than even that long time would imply, of course.

However, I would scan this list's archives for reports of problems
people are having with certain RAID devices and SAN technologies. It
doesn't seem like those are an issue for you, however, given the
hardware you describe. 

Also, you don't purchase RHEL3 or RHEL4, you purchase Red Hat Enterprise
Linux. You then load the version you want, inclusive from RHAS 2.1
through RHEL4. So if RHEL4 doesn't work for you, for whatever reason,
you can down level to any of the other two.
