Cisco 3000 VPN + Nahant = Intermittant hangups

I installed the Cisco VPN 3000 client onto my Dell Latitude D610 laptop 
running Nahant (with all patches/errata) connecting wirelessly with a 
Prism54 card.  Initially the client seemed to be working fine.  After a 
few system lockups and a lot more investigation into a pattern I have 
come up with the following.  If I boot the system up and try to vpn the 
sytem will hang with the Scroll Lock and Caps Lock keys flashing over 
and over until I power the system down.  If I boot up, remove the client 
and all the config files, do a make clean in the vpnclient installation 
directory, then re-install from scratch the system can vpn successfully 
until I reboot and then I need to go through the same process.  I don't 
know if this is a kernel issue or a Cisco issue but if the system does 
not hang I see the following in /var/log/messages...
