Choosing a scheduler a boot time

I cannot seem
to select a different scheduler in RHAS4 from the default "cfq" scheduler.
The scheduler choice appears to include any of these four
schedulers: completely fair queuing, deadline, anticipatory, and no-optimal.
I'm assuming you
simply append the correct scheduler name at the end of the "kernel" line in
grub.conf so that it looks like this:
sched=cfg
sched=dead
sched=as
sched=noop
However, none of
these seem to work. Any ideas?
