Choosing a scheduler a boot time

I cannot seem to select a different scheduler in RHAS4 from the default "cfq" scheduler. The scheduler choice appears to include any of these four schedulers: completely fair queuing, deadline, anticipatory, and no-optimal.

I'm assuming you simply append the correct scheduler name at the end of the "kernel" line in grub.conf so that it looks like this:

sched=cfg
sched=dead
sched=as
sched=noop

However, none of these seem to work. Any ideas?
