Can anyone give me a pointer in the right direction to debug this, as I am somewhat stumped, with what is essentially a simple problem. by default the X config doesn't listen to tcp look in /etc/X11/gdm/gdm.conf around these lines: # If true this will basically append -nolisten tcp to every X and change the setting to listen to tcp. (This is done for security reasons; to not listen by default) This worked, specifically, I added the following line DisallowTCP=false to /etc/X11/gdm/gdm.conf Is this a change of behavior between 3 and 4 ? I used kickstart to create the box and it copied a gdm.conf which worked in 3 to this box ? ps. Thanks for the responce, I really appreciate this list.
