Hi!
I'm working on my logfiles now and found the following in /var/log/messages:
Oct 3 17:20:01 fw1 crond(pam_unix)[27261]: session opened for user
root by (uid=0)
Oct 3 17:20:01 fw1 crond(pam_unix)[27261]: session closed for user root
Every 10 minutes these two lines are placed to the logfile. I suspect
that it is placed by sysstat, because it is the only program that runs
in every 10 minute.
The sa1 and sa2 scripts use the exec directive. Can I remove exec in
order to reduce the logsize? (I know logs are useful, but now I have
to really reduce logging on this machine)
