I imagine that those vendors and large users just copy an image on to a
disk and then put the disk in the target machine. Those that don't
will either use PXE or will use a boot CD with the right kickstart
line. I strongly suspect that CD booting is the least used option
otherwise you'd've heard of new machines cominng complete with a boot CD
in the drive :-) It's quite likely that the "hit a key to choose boot"
has come about purely to allow safe installation without tinkering with
the BIOS.
