Yes.

We only install up2date on one host and yum on the rest (yes, RHEL 3 and
4 with yum). We then use my patched up2date to mirror all RHEL 3 and 4
channels using that single host (Red Hat would have you purchase RHN
proxy or satellite; unacceptable to us). We make the channels available
as yum repos.

We use yum on over 4,000 RHEL 3 hosts.
