Are you running U2? If not, you should update to it and clean out
the /var/db/nscd directory as well.
We had similar issues even with U2 beta. We opened a support case and
they mentioned a bug fixed in U2 (cannot find the BZ number). For some
reason, nscd -l passwd will not fix the problem. You have to clean
out /var/db/nscd and restart nscd.
