Hi all
Well it has been a long 3 days trying to get a RedHat Enterprise 4.0 server
working with some LSI Logic RAID controller cards.
Has anyone had any success with these controller cards - LSI Logic 1020 and
LSI Logic 1030 Fusion MPT 320 RAID Controllers?
The errors that I am seeing intermittently on these cards is under heavy
hard drive load the SCSI bus does a task abort task reset (which hangs the
machine until it is completed). On the standard RHEL 4 kernel (2.6.9-Elsmp)
this can be 35 minutes. On the lastest kernel from www.kernel.org (2.6.13.4)
it is 5 seconds and using RHEL 4 update 2 kernel 2.6.9-22 the problem seems
to go away for a couple of hours and only reappear once or twice a day. Is
this normal for these controllers?
Alternatively what hardware RAID 5 controller cards would be recommended out
of the box for RHEL 4?
Thanks
Evan
