OK Does anyone know of a build that will work with RHEL4 (on PPC)? I tried
various Fedora ones (gnumeric-1.2.13-6.src.rpm,
gnumeric-1.6.2-1.fc5.src.rpm, gnumeric-1.2.8-2.src.rpm) but all builds
terminate with complaints about incompatible libraries.
I had gathered gnumeric and dependency friends some time back
on Centos-4 (initial) -- source RPMs at:
ftp://ftp.owlriver.com/pub/mirror/ORC/gnumeric/
as I recall libgda was needed first for a -devel for
libgnomedb; then gnumeric built with the -devel from
libgnomedb; all the rest of the dependency chain was already
present. As RHEL-4 is a progenitor to that Centos version, it
should build out OK.
I just tried that SRPM set again on centos-4.3, patched
current, and it builds out on x86 with no issues.
I see that Kai, at Terrasoft is carrying 1.2.8 for YDL4 as
well, and so sources for that should be available as well.
In trying a build of my set on my YDL unit, I only need
mysqlclient10-devel -- as I recall that is fairly
straightforward to get to. Let me know if you need for me to
supplement my archive for the srpm for that dependency.
Contact me offlist if you get stuck, Matthew, or in #centos on
freenode IRC, during East Coast business hours, and we can use
a pastebin to diagnose 'on the fly.'
