RE: RHEL4 Update3: eth0 not working after upgrading from RHEL4 base

Thanks for the advice. I will check it out.

“lspci” gives me the card details correctly. Problem is “OS” is not able to load the driver and manually doing “insmod” also giving me the error.

Please suggest me if you get more ideas.

Thanks & Regards,
Sailaja

I suggest to replace the Ethernet card, just for test and don't forgot check for kudzu service running on booting if not run it "chkconfig kudzu on" command.

Hi All,

We have updated the RHEL4 WS base version (Kernel: 2.4.9-5.EL) to RHEL4 Update3 version (downloaded from:https://rhn.redhat.com/network/software/channels/downloads.pxt?cid=2869 )

After the update "eth0" is not working and it says MAC address has been changed and couldn't detect.

I couldn't find "eth0/8169too" in "lsmod".

I tried inserting the module "8169too.ko" but it through me an error.

Every thing was working fine before the update. Can some body please suggest me what could be the problem?

Thanks & Regards,
Sailaja
