Is the firmware on the card up to date? If the firmware and driver are

I've updated the card to the latest BIOS version I could find on 3Ware's
site which is version 7.7.1 last updated in July of '04. The 9.3.0.3
version did not include firmware for my 7500 series card.
Yep -- 7.7.1 is the latest firmware for the 7xxx/8xxx series.
I'm running centos-4 on several 7500 and 8000 (and 9550, for that matter)
based systems, so it *can* work.
Can you find the driver/bios version numbers?
Model 7500-8
Firmware FE7X 1.05.00.068
Driver 1.26.00.039
BIOS BE7X 1.08.00.048
Monitor ME7X 1.01.00.040
Memory Installed 2 MB
# of Ports 8
# of Units 1
# of Drives 8
One thing that may be worth trying is looking at the drives' SMART info.
Maybe one is iffy enough to trip up this driver but not another...
