RE: RHEL4 NFS

I'm running 2x HP Proliant DL385 on RHEL4 U2 x86_64 with a pretty good IO without problems. Got 8 machines doing mostly reads from the share (all 100mbit connections).

We have a central NFS server with about 500GB of storage (not a lot nowadays I guess).  It's running on a Dell 2650 and gets a good workout during standard business hours, although mostly reads.  At night there are large extract jobs which do heavy writes.

This system was upgraded to RHEL4 in the last few weeks (basically, once
U3 passed our internal regression testing).  So far it's been solid.

We also have several RHEL4 systems running on Dell 2850 hardware.  They don't do NFS but they have been solid.  We run the x86_64 version, not the 32-bit version.

Do you think your problem was related to NFS or due to some other issue with the kernel on that server?
