We've used earlier versions (1.x) of Mondo and were very pleased with 
it.  Then we went to grub instead of lilo and lvm instead of plain old 
partitions, and we couldn't get it to work any more.  I haven't tried 
the newer versions -- they may have resolved those problems.

When it works, it's really nice.
o  The archiving program (mondoarchive) creates ISO files that you can 
burn to CDs.  The CDs are bootable and restore the image with a single 
command.
o  Mondoarchive runs on the native OS as a regular application.  No need 
to boot a special OS or unmount any disks.
o  According to the documentation, you can run it on a cron to keep an 
image up-to-date.  (I haven't tried that.)
