Red Hat does some things in house like Red Hat Network, but that is
separate from Red Hat Linux. All the work we put into Red Hat Linux is
open sourced, whether it was primarily developed by us or not.

True, but the work required to put an entire OS together is much larger
than a company our size could tackle alone. We rely on work done by the
open source volunteers as well as work done by our competitors, just as
they rely on work done by us.

I'm not quite sure what you're asking for here, but a list of the
projects that we contribute heavily to can be found at:
http://www.redhat.com/about/community/development.html
You can also find some of the projects that we host at
http://sources.redhat.com
As for following the development process, you can join the mailing list
of any of the projects listed above at their project web pages. More
than likely, you'll see plenty of people with redhat.com addresses
contributing to the projects in various ways.
Cheers,
Brent
