[OS:N:] Linux in Universities

I am a University of Minnesota student (in the MS
Program in Health Informatics) and I am proud to say
that the situation here in the Computer Science
department is completely different from the scenario
in LA that Michael Tiemann posted about. The
University of Minnesota uses mainly UNIX (Solaris
actually) and Linux in its labs. Students are
encouraged to use the command line and get freedom
from GUI and Windows dependence.
