[OS:N:] open source market share

I am looking for some trend data on the increase in use or market share
of open source software/technologies over the past five years, and
projections of market share over the coming five years. 

Similarly, I need to determine if there are any organizations or
companies engaged in tracking the market share of open source
technologies.

Any help on these matters would most certainly be appreciated.
