We use the Course Technology book you mention in our
UNIX administration class.
Mostly the discrepancies I've seen are with the X
Windows icons/applets/control panels, but that's going
to be the case with whatever desktop people choose. I
just explain to the students how to accomplish the
tasks at hand using the X tools they have and to be
familiar with vi so they don't have to rely upon X to
do admin tasks. Most of the time the book labs are
ok, but some are a bit outdated.
I'm just now looking at the Linux Networking book by
Wells. This has RH 7.3. I didn't know that RH 8.0
will be shipping with the new Linux Installation and
Administration book...that will be nice.
