This article/essay (written by a former colleague) has good
information.  Some of the ideas are basic (e.g. "You need a regular
meeting time") and in a sense apply to any volunteer organization, and
others are very focused toward LUG-life.  The experience in writing the
essay comes from years of experience organizing and attending LUGs.
