[OS:N:] Educating the federal government

Here's an announcement for a new mailing list. I don't know how
successful it will be, but the site is hosted here in the DC area,
and I suspect many of the members are local...

Subj: [ma-linux] Invitation: join linux-pe

After much delay on my part -- for a variety of reasons -- the E-list
linux-pe(= "Linux: Public Education) is up and running; we currently
have 29 members. The purpose: to enable Representatives and Senators
to use Linux in their offices; and, hence, to be sure that the
constituent management software(CMS) is ported to Linux.

It seems clear that a group of Rep Davis' constituents have an
educational job to do. I recommend that they get organized
	through linux-pe.

I myself tried to work with former Congresswoman Connie Morella, but
met evasion and avoidance. We in the Maryland 8th District now have a
new opportunity with the new Congressman Chris Van Hollen. I would
like to arrange a meeting with him sometime in the next three weeks,
and I urge fellow constituents also to join linux-pe.

This E-list is run out of our beloved tux.org, using mailman SW. To
join, send a subscribe message to: linux-pe-request tux org .

All who have interest in helping the Fed Gov to become more
Linux-aware are invited to join.

Best wishes,

Alan
