Red Hat is working with the Curry School at UVA on this project, as well
as many other learner-based and teacher education software tools. If
you're interested in getting involved, please let me or Dr. Glen Bull
<gbull virginia edu> know.
The idea that drives PoetryForge is the concept of Open Source
methodology/philosophy at the application level, meaning that the tools
allow the user (student) to manipulate the components at will, much like
Open Source software allows the developer to manipulate the source. The
team at UVA have devised some interesting concepts concerning Open
Source in education that will appear in the Fall issue of Learning and
Leading with Technology. Check it out!
Thanks.
