Well, maybe I should have thought about it more deeply. On this side of the
Atlantic there's a folk song which runs "And Uncle Tom Cobley and all, and
Uncle Tom Cobley and all!" which is the sense I'm trying to convey.......
I wasn't knocking Mandrake or implying that Mandrake was an Uncle Tom in the
sense of Uncle Tom's Cabin (which, while excellent, isn't that widely read
over here).
