The current status of our port is limited :-( to just making applications
shadow aware in afashion that they will work on both shadowed and
non-shadowed systems. What we needed was to release a preliminary version
of those packages so that people can get them, use them , report
problems, and most important, get used to shadow thing. I personally
still don't consider our patches completed, since more work needs to be
done - some applications fail to check for account expiry for example.
We have also added few features to each packages, also for public
testing, as we want to make sure that some of our patches don't fail
miserably on some configurations, before submitting them to package
maintainers.

The present status of these packages is BETA. As we clarify ourselves on
steps to follow and a common approach to make applications shadow aware,
we will release some new versions. We hope to have a full set of 'stable'
patches in about two weeks, if people keep reporting 'no problems' :-).
After this we will suggest that our patches to be incorporated in the
mainstream RedHat distribution.

But as I see things, the next version of RedHat is going to support PAM,
so here is the reason we want to join your efforts.

Thank you. If we will need help, we will ask you, but this will mean - at
least for me - a break of the kind image I have about the people at
redhat :-)))
