pam_mkhomedir - imap/pop3

Hello!
I am using the washington.edu imap server.  I can use the 
pam_mkhomedir.so module with sshd to create home directories fine but 
when I use it with imap or pop3, it does not.  I realize that it may not 
be necessary for pop3 but imap definately needs a home directory.
