When will gdb support NPTL?

I just updated with the latest CVS of gdb
and still get:

~/c++/libcwd/testsuite>gdb threads_threads_shared


dlopen failed on 'libthread_db.so.1' - /lib/tls/libthread_db.so.1: undefined symbol: ps_get_thread_area
GDB will not be able to debug pthreads.

Shouldn't that be fixed by now?  Or am I missing something :/

I am using redhat 9 (but kernel 2.5.69, gcc-3.4 from cvs and gdb from cvs).
