Are you using the tarball or the rpm from the contrib directory? I
tried installing the tarball once, but I didn't get far - even after I
was able to compile the beast, it wasn't working. Once I installed the
rpm, everything runs just fine.

Is 3f4 available as an rpm?  If so, maybe I'll get it...  Ifnot,
I need to try to get the tar to work, as I need
the subthreshold stuff..
