Re: Installation Problems..please help..it's URGENT!

Per,

If you cannot change the IRQ of the NIC, then the Win95/NT stuff is
pointless. That was just to make sure that Win95/NT would still find the
card after the IRQ change. I would chase down the manufacturer of the NIC
or the bios and see what help they can give.

Other than that, you may be in the same position as I. I have to add a
second SCSI interface to a system that already has one on the motherboard.
It also has an Ethernet controller on the motherboard and I have added a
Token Ring card. Token Ring support in Linux is a little thin. The PCI TR
card I tried first would not work because the driver does not yet support 4
digit IO addresses. I had to go with an ISA card. Now when I add the second
SCSI interface, the TR card stops working. The driver says it cannot find
any TR cards. IRQ's are distinct, and the BIOS and EISA configurator claim
the Shared Memory addresses are distinct, but I suspect I will have to take
out the TR card, add in the SCSI and then re-add the TR card. The new
SCSI is differential to hook up to some shared, high speed tape drives we
have.
