RH 5.0 and NIS setup

I've just installed RH 5.0 and, as usual, it all seemed to go fine (hats
of to the guys for all the work they've done!).
Doing my usual post-install tasks, I tried to set up NIS(client).
Previously this was done simply by editing the /etc/yp.conf file and
puting in the domainname and ypserver and it all magically worked (support
built in to libc).
This no-longer works, (can't bind to server which serves this domain). Is
this due to the fact that it is now using glibc?
Has anyone got NIS (client) working yet?
Thanks once again,
Dave...
