All--
I just installed an FIC PA-2011 m/b, with an AMI BIOS. After installing RH 4.2
w/ MetroX, I could not get MetroX to recognize the mouse. I've checked out all
the usual suspects: conflicting IRQ's, wrong addresses, etc. I did notice in
the BIOS setup that support for the PS/2 mouse port was enabled; no change
after disabling this (the mouse is on the COM2 port, no other serial ports
present).
Is there a utility or a way to monitor I/O across a dev port? I'd like to see
if in fact the I/O signals from the serial port even exist.
Other suggestions welcome.
FWIW, I'm real happy with the PA-2011 (the last Supermicro board I had was a
real bitch). I felt like I was getting ripped off with Intel's brain-damaged
TX chipset. The VIA chipset seems to work very well...
