Browsing RHL 5.0 CD 1 On Win95

OK, so I just rcvd my official RHL 5.0 CDs from Red Hat, and I've read the
Installation Guide, and I see some instructions here and there for doing
various things with the CD(s) from "DOS", so I pop CD 1 into the drive on
my Win95 system, and ...

Win95 says "Drive not ready" and the drive sounds like it's trying to flip
the CD over to the other side or something, and ...

Is CD 1 in some format which Win95 can't grok?

BTW, I can browse CD 2 just fine.
