Ooooooooooops, never mind.

After trying 3 or 4 times, I took a good lok at the CD, cleaned up some
flash around the center hole with my finger nail, flipped out the ears in
my drive tray, and Ta Dah!

Mechanical tolerances or somesuch  ...  onward and upward!
