NE2000 Ethernet Adapter

I am using a Toshiba 200 CS laptop with Slackware96 Linux and a PCMCIA
NE2000 Ethernet Adapter. I had to create a new card definition in the
file /etc/pcmcia/config:

card "NE2000 Compatible LanPro Ethernet Card"
  version "PCMCIA", "Ethernet", "A"
  bind "pcnet_cs"

Now, I am trying to install the new Redhat5.0 Linux via FTP on my laptop
instead of the Slackware96. I have the boot and the pcmcia supplemental
disks, but the installation stops when trying to identify my net card.
On the actual system, my net card uses the port 300 and irq 3. I have
tried several options but nothing works.

PS: When probing the pcmcia services, one low beep is produced
instead of the two high beeps on the actual system. Can I get help ???
