I have had exactly the same problem. It occured in RH linux 4.2 and I
was told it might be the TX chipset my motherboard uses. I upgraded to
RH 5.0 which supports TX motherboards and it did not change the problem
at all.
I have also tried the 'mem=64M' and 'expert' options in every
combination with no luck. I have posted a few times to this group and
recieved no solution. I even opened a Tech support ticket (since I
actually purchased the boxed package) and recieved the singularly
unhelpful advice:
"Check www.redhat.com/errata for more information..."
and
"you may find the Red Hat users' mailing list to be of
assistance. To subscribe to the redhat-list mailing list..."
I am quite frustrated by this problem as it is obviously not my fault (I
haven't been given an choices to screw up yet!) and no one seems to have
any clue what to do about it. If you find a solution to this problem,
please let me know.
Thanks,
Owen Davies
