I have searched through the archives on redhat.com and have found no
answer to this...so please excuse if it has been asked before. THanks.
I recently installed RedHat 5.0 on my machine and am having some
problems during boot. I fire it up via Syslinux (or LOADLIN) and everything
seems to go properly. It goes all the way up to "VMS: Mounted root (ext2
filesystem) with no problems. THen it stops and says "Unable to open an
initial console". Any thoughts why? I am passing in root=/dev/hda7 (which
is the right root partition) and mem=72M as my parameters to the kernel.
Could /dev/console be blown or something along those lines? Thanks alot in
advance.
