Hi: Has anyone successfully installed Red Hat Linux 4.2 from
a Sony portable Discman PRD 650 cdrom drive (it connects to the
laptop via PCMCIA , Adaptec APA 1425/50/60 PCMCIA SCSI Host adapter)
on to IBM Thinkpad 560 or a similar configuration ? After I put
in the supplmentary disk, I do start the PCMCIA services (at least
I see that the cdrom light comes on) . However, during booting,
the kernel never detects any scsi device. Moreover, when I try
to use the available SCSI drivers from the installation menu, no
device is detected ! Since I can't proceed any further, I have
to abort the installation. Did others have the same experience ?
Thanks, Abhijit
