I'm running RedHat 5.0 with network printing. The computer is used as a
samba server. The strange thing is, after a few days of idle time -- that
is no print jobs -- the print daemon dies.
Someone will try to print, but it fails to work. When I check with lpq;
it tells me that there is no daemon present. I end up restarting lpd, and
the print jobs goes through.
Any clues as to what's causing the problem? Is it a lpd problem or a
samba problem? Thanks for any help.
