I'm having a similar problem. Whenever I send anything to print (printing
to a network HP5 with a JetDirect card), the file queues up, I can see lpd
running under ps ax, but lpq shows me all the files waiting to print but
there's no daemon present. If I /etc/rc.d/init.d/lpd stop and then start
the files print. I had this working OK before going to 5.0 and I have
all errata installed. Any ideas on what's going on here?
