I've just compiled my kernel 2.0.30, while trying to install the
pcsndrv. Everything worked well. I made `make zdisk`, but when trying to
boot from the new kernel floppy, it detects ok my network card (3com),
my SCSI card (adaptec 1542) and my hard disk with four partitions (sda1,
sda2 (swap), sda3, sda4) but it cannot mount root fs. Here's the error:
VFS: cannot open root device 03:01
Kernel panic: VFS: unable to mount root fs on 03:01
My first guess here was that the kernel was compiled correctly,
but some how i need to specify that root fs must be mounted on /dev/sda1.
If so, how can i do this?
If not, what do i have to do?
My computer: AMDK6-233Mhz, 64Mb of ram, Adaptec-1542, with a
Quatum Fireball 2.1Gb, 3com 900.
Thanks in advance.
