Boot probs, 4.2

Heya,

Ive just installed 4.2 on to a 216 partition of my lba 2.1 gig hd.
I use win95 on the first, and just formatted the 216 to linux native.
My prob is at the end of the installation, where it installs
the boot loader, it comes back with an error saying cannot open
/mnt//sbin/mkinitrd or something like that... I take it that means
it couldnt find the source files.
I skip this and restart. Missing Operating System. It scared the crap
outta me till i realized the active partition was on my 216.
Is there some way i can manually install the loader?
