There are several sites that have quake for linux- both xquake and squake.
IMHO squake is better, it uses the svgalib.  Try
http://threewave.planetquake.com/linux  You have to have the reg version
of quake installed on your win95 partition (to get reg version, go buy the
shareware cd for $9.95 and search the net for a crack, although this may
be just a rumour and you didnt hear it from me :) ).  They tell you to
copy all the files from your quake dir on win95 to the quake dir in linux,
but it works like a charm to make a symlink to the id1 dir on your win95
partition.  Switch to a virtual console, run squake and there ya go!
